Advocating to end violence against women and girls
The Zonta Club of Invercargill currently supports the Murihiku Young Parents Learning Centre (MYPLC) , Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and Foster Hope Otago/Southland.

The Zonta Club of Invercargill is proud to again take part in 16 Days of Activism from 25 November to 10 December, alongside Zonta clubs worldwide.
The campaign aims to raise awareness and advocate for change to gender-based attitudes and behaviours to end violence against women and girls.
Some of the actions the Zonta Club of Invercargill is undertaking during the 16 Days of Activism are, lighting up the Queens Park band rotunda, Feldwick Gates and the fountain on Gala Street in orange (Zonta’s colour for a Brighter Future), “chalking the talk” by writing messages in chalk outside The Warehouse with the assistance of a local Ranger Group, having a display at the Invercargill Library in remembrance of those who have died as a result of gender-based violence, collecting items to donate to Women’s Refuge and sharing posts on social media with statistics on violence against women and survivor stories.
Zonta is a worldwide group of professional women and, as part of its focus on empowering women, the Zonta Club of Invercargill currently supports the Murihiku Young Parents Learning Centre (MYPLC) , Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and Foster Hope Otago/Southland.
