Councillor disputes suggestion he asked for 'time out'
“He had complaints from other councillors about my comments in meetings. The Mayor asked me to take leave to settle the waters and I complied; I did not seek it.”
Invercargill City Councillor Ian Pottinger has been absent from a key council role since December 15 following a meeting about “performance issues” with Invercargill Mayor Nobby Clark.
Following that meeting, Clark advised the rest of the council, and some senior staff, that Pottinger had sought “time out” from his council roles.
