Dennis resigns from Stadium Southland board
The Stadium Southland board has thanked Alan Dennis for his many years of service and commitment to the venue.
Long-time Stadium Southland board member Alan Dennis has resigned from the role.
Dennis, who was the board chair, has been involved with Stadium Southland since its inception.
In August last year, he had a stand named after him at the venue.
The stadium board thanked Dennis for his many years of service and commitment to the venue.
The statement said Dennis had worked tirelessly to maintain and improve the venue and opportunities for the community.
Dennis had voluntarily stood down from the board while an investigation is carried out into the handling of an employment complaint at the stadium.
It followed the resignation of long-time general manager Nigel Skelt after the harassment complaint.
Earlier this month interim stadium board chair Hayden Rankin said the investigation into the handling of that complaint would likely take four to six weeks and was being conducted by a Christchurch barrister.
A statement from the stadium board on Wednesday said: “Alan and the board remain committed to the external review process previously announced”.
Dennis, a former long-time ILT president, was the ILT representative on the Stadium Southland board but has since been replaced by Sheree Carey.
Rankin will continue as the interim board chair.
