Guha is an accountant and currently is the Invercargill Licensing Trust’s Chief Financial Officer.
“He has strong financial skills and extensive senior management experience in vocational education and training and I would like to welcome him to the TEC board,” Simmonds said.
Guha spent over 20 years at the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) as deputy chief executive corporate/chief financial officer and Simmonds said he was one of the architects of the SIT zero fees scheme.
“His deep knowledge and sound governance experience, will inject new levels of energy and engagement into the commission.”
Guha was born in Singapore and arrived in New Zealand in 1984.
He earned a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Otago and is also a chartered accountant.
Guha will join Dr Alan Bollard CNZM - an experienced public sector leader, board member and Chair - as new appointment to the TEC board.
