When Craig Smith arrived at Pirates-Old Boys in 2007 the Galbraith Shield was sitting proudly at the club.

He was a fresh teenager who had just left Southland Boys’ High School.

The year before the then-named Eastern Hawks club had won its first Galbraith Shield.
