Gore CEO Steve Parry set to stay on in interim role
Steve Parry resigned as Gore council's CEO last month and was due to finish on October 31. But he now looks set to stay on in an interim role.
Outgoing Gore District Council Chief Executive Stephen Parry is likely to continue in the role until his replacement is appointed.
On Tuesday night the council resolved to appoint Parry as interim chief executive during the recruitment of a new chief executive.
Parry resigned last month and was due to finish on Tuesday 31 October.
Gore District Mayor Ben Bell said the terms and conditions of Parry’s employment as interim chief executive have yet to be agreed upon.
The council will meet on Thursday, in committee, to consider potential recruitment agencies to undertake the search for a new chief executive.
Meanwhile, the council’s general manager of community lifestyle services Rex Capil announced his resignation this week.
Capil has previously stepped in as acting chief executive when Parry has been on leave.
