Humbucker leading hope in Riverton Cup
"He's never gone a bad one [since arriving from the North Island] ... he tries his heart out. His work is always good, he's in good order and looks the part."

Humbucker's never-say-die nature has helped him win two cup races and more silverware is in his sights at Riverton today [Saturday].
He and Exchange are equal topweights with 60kg for the Carriers Arms Hotel-sponsored Riverton Cup (2147m). Humbucker's trainer, Ellis Winsloe, said the gelding consistently raced well.
"He's never gone a bad one [since arriving from the North Island] ... he tries his heart out.
"His work is always good, he's in good order and looks the part."
Humbucker won the Timaru and Gore Cups during the summer and in his latest start, was a steadily closing third in the Wyndham Cup at Gore on March 12.
Depending on his performance on Saturday, Humbucker could back up on the second day of the Riverton Racing Club's Easter meeting on Monday.Â
The Grey Goose also looks a good bet today.
She won her first start with a strong maiden success at Riverton on January 1. She has had three starts since, including luckless runs in the $70,000 Gore Guineas (seventh) and $65,000 NZ Bloodstock Insurance Stakes (fifth, Wingatui).
The Grey Goose, trained by Jo Gordon, should be in the finish of the Martin Forde Waipango Handicap today.
