Welcome to The Southland Tribune’s weekly column spot called “Insight”. This week COIN South general manager Cathy Peters provides an update on its move and the looming Tech Week.

Hey there! Kia ora!

We are excited to welcome you into the new COIN South office at 25 Don Street during the month of May! Our team has been busy packing up the office in preparation for this exciting new chapter for both us and our community.

A big thank you to the Southland Chamber of Commerce who have done an incredible job of creating such an amazing space for all of us to work in, but also for you to attend events and use the co-working and private meeting rooms that are available for you to hire out.

As we settle into our new home, we are gearing up for New Zealand Tech Week, the country’s biggest tech and innovation festival, taking place from 13th - 20th May 2023. We are proud to be part of this national celebration and are excited to showcase the incredible tech talent and innovation happening right here in the deep south.

Alongside the Southland Chamber of Commerce and Digital Stock we are hosting the Tech Legends in the South event. Join us for a tour of the Digital Stock tech hub and learn about the innovative projects the team is currently working on.

Jim Dowling will also be chatting to us about his experience setting up a tech company in Southland, and a Q&A session on how we can encourage and inspire more people in the South to become a part of the tech industry.

We will be live streaming some of the national events that are happening across the country in the COIN South office, as well as sharing others you may want to tune into on our Facebook page so make sure you are following that!

The team at Great South are hosting a session on how VR (virtual reality) will change and shape how we do things in the workplace!
