Invercargill Mayor, councillor take aim at council neighbours
“This is not a staff issue, it’s a lack of leadership from us. We are not forceful enough with our colleagues in the other two councils.”
Invercargill’s mayor and a long-serving councillor have taken aim at their Gore and Southland colleagues over what they say is a lack of action around waste minimisation.
Speaking at a council meeting on Tuesday Invercargill Mayor Nobby Clark said the province had the worst regional minimisation results in the country.
“That’s nothing to be proud about,” Clark said.
