After a sell-out, award winning season in 2023, Repertory Invercargill is bringing back the Mums and this time they’re traversing the teen years.
Mum’s the Word 2 - Teenagers gives audiences the chance to ride the rollercoaster of emotions everyday life with teens brings, poking fun at everything from refereeing warring siblings to unfortunate experiments with alcohol and that awkward first talk about the birds, the bees, and the latex.
Director Anya Bowman is back at the helm and is even more excited about bringing this instalment to the Repertory stage.
“Mum’s the Word 2 is full of the same heartbreaking honesty and absolute hilarity that delighted everyone back in 2023,” she said.
“This time our mums are facing aging, the spectre of cancer and marriage upheavals along with the white-knuckle ride that is parenting a teen.”
Anya is also thrilled with her cast.
“We were really spoiled for choice, and these women are all absolute stars who will bring the audiences along on this ride with real flair.”
Audiences will recognise actors Julie Smith, Hannah Kennedy and Ana Bremer, along with returning mum Sarah McCarthy and newcomer Jodi Halleux.
“It’s a powerhouse cast and they’re going to knock your socks off,” Anya said.
