Nominations now open for 2023 ILT Southland Sports Awards
“After a couple of years where representative sport was heavily impacted by the pandemic, it’s been fantastic to see Southlanders achieving at a high level again on the national, international stage."

Nominations are now open for the 2022/2023 ILT Southland Sports Awards.
The nomination period runs through until April 26. New Zealand’s longest-running regional sports awards will be celebrated on June 9.
The aim of the awards is to inspire the Southland community, recognise and honour outstanding achievements and promote positive sporting role models.
Active Southland presents the annual awards on behalf of the Southland Amateur Sports Trust, and chief executive Vanessa Hughey-Pol said the 2023 edition was shaping up as a special one.
“After a couple of years where representative sport was heavily impacted by the pandemic, it’s been fantastic to see Southlanders achieving at a high level again on the national and international stage,” Hughey-Pol said.
“Southland athletes, coaches, officials and administrators are once again leading the way and it will be great to come together as a sporting community to celebrate their achievements in June.”
Nominations can be made by regional sports organisations, clubs or individuals.
The eligibility period for this year’s awards is April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
