Powerful American partnership announced for The Grace Street Project
“Dale and Danielle are both successful, inspiring leaders and the fact they believe in our kaupapa means so much to us and the community we represent.”
It may seem strange at first to understand how a community-driven initiative, aiming to transform south Invercargill, has connected with two women with significant influence in America.
Although that’s what the group behind The Grace Street Project have done.
Dr Danielle Jones, also known as Mama Doctor Jones to her 3.4 million followers across multiple platforms and Dale Pfeifer, founder of Goodworld, and a named business leader in the Washington Business Journal “40 under 40” are the newest ambassadors to partner with The Grace Street Project.
The Invercargill Community Connections Charitable Trust (IC2) officially launched The Grace Street Project last year after securing ownership of the former Grace St Chapel building.
The project will include renovating, rebuilding, and modernising the existing building to create a multi-purpose facility for south Invercargill.
Grace Street Project Chair, Janette Malcolm was delighted that both women had agreed to be ambassadors for the initiative.
“Dale and Danielle are both successful, inspiring leaders and the fact they believe in our kaupapa means so much to us and the community we represent.”
Both women have connections to America and Invercargill but in uniquely different ways.
American born, Dr Jones is currently living in Invercargill working in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Southland Hospital.
An adopted Southlander now, Jones is a global star creating ‘edu-tainment’ which focuses on reproduction and sexual health.
She has amassed millions of followers across Youtube, TikTok and Instagram, using these platforms to educate and explain research and science in simple terms.
Dr Jones was thrilled to be involved with The Grace Street Project and honored to have the opportunity to give back.
“Invercargill has so quickly become home to us and though we've been here 3 years now, I will never stop feeling thankful for the incredible Invercargill community who welcomed us with open arms mid-pandemic and continue to support our whānau daily as we enjoy life in Aotearoa.”
Invercargill born Dale Pfeifer, has a hugely successful career in America. Founder of Goodworld, a platform that helps connect donors and charities online through social media and now CEO of Giving Compass, a leading online platform that guides donors towards impactful giving opportunities.
Pfeifer has a lengthy list of achievements including being recognised as one of 100 Most Powerful Women in DC by the Washingtonian magazine, one of Washington Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” business leaders and runner up in the 2016 New Zealand Woman of the Year awards.
Pfeifer also mentioned how honoured she is to join The Grace Street Project.
“Offering support and pathways for people to achieve their dreams is essential for a healthy, thriving community. I'm excited to join the team and eager to contribute in any way I can, to help support people in this impactful change."
Pfeifer and Jones join two other previously announced ambassadors, Jason Paris, CEO of One NZ and Chris Mac from Six60. All four have agreed to align with the project during the fundraising phase and continue their involvement once the community hub was operational.
Malcolm was excited at the educational opportunities the ambassadors would provide at Grace Street and the potential for building awareness to a wider audience.
“Danielle is interested in delivering educational health sessions as well as sharing her experience and knowledge in establishing a successful online platform. Dale will bring her wealth of business experience to the community through mentoring opportunities at the hub.
“We are privileged to have such a strong and diverse group of ambassadors, all with different strengths and areas of expertise. It is testament to the Grace Street Project that we have developed these powerful partnerships.”
Great news, well done Grace Street Project, how generous of these amazing ladies to give their time and expertise
Both of these women, seem very capable, however how is the fund raising going, and will they bring any expertise in this area. The sooner we see something tangible with regards to the actual building the better.
