Prominent Dee St pillars could be earthquake-prone
“While you can technically say; ‘well, we have 12 and half years to fix it’, it doesn’t sit well morally if people are hurt by pillars that collapse."
Four Dee St pillars are potentially earthquake-prone and Invercargill Mayor Nobby Clark has raised questions if it’s morally right to leave them standing as they are.
The Invercargill City Council met on Tuesday to discuss what to do with Wachner Place and Lower Esk St in the future.
