Rugby Southland raises $18k for Hawthorndale Care Village

Rugby Southland has announced a substantial donation of $18,323.80 to the Hawthorndale Care Village.
It follows the resounding success of their Charity Campaign during the 2023 Bunnings NPC (National Provincial Championship) season.
The breakdown of the $18,323.80 donation is as follows:
$4,600 from Paladin Sports: Paladin Sports generously contributed $10 from each of the 460 replica jerseys sold during the Bunnings NPC season.
Over $11,000 in profit from the jersey auction: The jersey auction garnered immense interest and enthusiasm among fans, raising an inmpressive amount for the cause.
$1,883 donated by SBS Bank: SBS Bank's generous contribution was a part of their "Defend with Heart" campaign, in which they pledged $1 for every successful tackle made by the SBS Bank Southland Stags in 2023.
Game day donations from fans: The enthusiastic support from fans during the Bunnings NPC season played a significant role in reaching the overall donation amount.
Rugby Southland’s Commercial and Marketing Manager Jack King extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the individuals, organizations, and fans who made this substantial contribution possible.

Project Lead for Hawthorndale Care Village Helen Robinson expressed the organisation’s appreciation for Rugby Southland's generosity.
“This substantial donation will significantly enhance our ability to provide high-quality care and support to our residents.
“The funds will be used in the final stages of outfitting and preparing the village for the arrival of our residents in 2025. We are deeply thankful for Rugby Southland's commitment to our community."
One of the most significant values from this campaign was the widespread awareness it provided for dementia care and the Hawthorndale Care Village project.
The campaign reached tens of thousands of individuals throughout New Zealand and around the globe, thanks to the support from Sky Sport promotion.
This donation underscores the strong bond between Rugby Southland and the local community and reaffirms the organisation's dedication to corporate social responsibility.
