Sir Tim Shadbolt declines tribute ideas, prefers statue

Sir Tim Shadbolt has declined to have a prominent Invercargill reserve, or a major city asset, named after him as a part of a civic tribute.
He and long-time partner Asha Dutt have instead suggested a statue be erected in the city. Although it’s an idea that doesn’t seem to have won over mayor Nobby Clark or deputy mayor Tom Campbell.
