“It was a good weekend, the first time I finished in the front group and less than half a second from victory. We also scored a lot of points for the championship.”

Southland teenager Cormac Buchanan has delivered yet another example as to why many in the New Zealand motorcycling community are so excited by his prospects in the sport.
Competing in round three of the FIM JuniorGP World Championship in Spain at the weekend Buchanan picked up a fourth and fifth place finish. His best performance to date.
In race two the Invercargill lad finished just 0.3 seconds from the win and 0.06 seconds from the podium in a JuniorGP World Championship race.
That followed Buchanan’s fifth-place finish in race one. He worked his way back into the race after dropping to 15th due to a long-lap penalty.
It’s an impressive performance that again hammered home why Buchanan is New Zealand’s brightest hope in the sport.

Buchanan had every right to be pleased with his showing at Circuito de Jerez in Spain.
“It was a good weekend, the first time I finished in the front group and less than half a second from victory. We also scored a lot of points for the championship,” Buchanan said.
“If I'm not mistaken, we're four points out of P5. Happy about that and looking forward to Portimao where I want to take it and give the team one of the trophies they give out on the podium.”
The next round of the FIM JuniorGP World Championship will be in Portugal at the start of next month.
