World record broken: Determined southern shearers get job done
Five shearers new to tackling shearing records have smashed a world record by 326 lambs in Southland today [Sunday]. The Forde Winders Shearing crew of Trevor Holland, of New Plymouth, Max Winders, of Colac Bay, Trent Hewes, of Tuakau, Ben Boyle, of Invercargill, and Josef Winders, of Tussock Creek, sheared a new world five-stand eight-hours strongwool lambs record of 3236. Hawke Cup: Bowlers lift Southland to outright victory
Southland has notched up a confidence-boosting outright victory over North Otago in the southern zone Hawke Cup cricket fixture played in Oamaru at the weekend.
