Mark it down as a challenging eight days for the Southland Sharks organisation. There’s only way direction from here - up. Southland lost its third straight game to start the 2024 Sal’s National Basketball League when it was beaten 107-80 by Hawke’s Bay on the road on Sunday night. (READ MORE HERE).

Queens Park has shown some promise in the ODT Men’s Southern Premier League in recent seasons after stepping up from Southland’s Donald Gray Cup. On Saturday Queens Park yet again reaffirmed that. (READ MORE HERE).
Southland's remarkable double-double at South Island champs
The South Island Secondary School Track and Field Championships gave Southland a middle-distance double-double with wins in both boys and girls U15 800m and 1500m races, and a couple of records as well. (READ MORE HERE).
Tribune Shoutout…
Two Southland teams advanced to the finals of the 2024 National Interclub Sevens. The Invercargill Bowling Club progressed to the final of the women’s competition before being beaten by Carlton Cornwall Bowls in the decider.
The Gore Bowling Club advanced to the final in the men’s section before being beaten by the Auckland Bowling Club.
It was yet another big and exciting weekend of bowls for Southland.
