The Gore District Council is offering free dumping of flood-damaged items at the Gore and Mataura transfer stations. Torrential rain last week caused the council’s stormwater and wastewater networks to be overwhelmed, resulting in significant surface flooding in Gore and Mataura. (READ MORE HERE).
Invercargill to be lit up in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The water tower, Queens Park band rotunda, Gala Street fountain, and Feldwick Street gates will be glowing in pink, joining more than 60 of New Zealand’s landmarks, streets and prominent buildings in a global campaign to shine a spotlight on the importance of detecting breast cancer early. Southland Stags v Bay of Plenty - Wednesday, 7.05pm - Rugby Park, Invercargill
Midweek NPC rugby is about to hit Invercargill. The Southland Stags will play its last home game of 2023 when he takes on Bay of Plenty at Rugby Park on Wednesday night.
It’s a special night given the Stags will line up in a one-off playing jersey which will be revealed when they run on to Rugby Park.
The jerseys will then be auctioned off with the money raised going to the Hawthorndale Care Village.
