A question mark looms over the future of Invercargill’s Night of the Arts winter event as Arts Murihiku continues to work through a reduction in its operating budget. Although Arts Murihiku chairperson Becs Amundsen has confirmed they will investigate ways to try to keep the event going in the future. (READ MORE HERE).

Steel lose by one in bottom of the table clash
The Stars have edged the Southern Steel, 54-53, in an ANZ Premiership bottom-of-the-table clash in Dunedin on Monday night. The two sides had won one game apiece against each other during the season and the determination from both sides to claim bragging rights from their third encounter was obvious from the outset. Racehorse Buoyant returning from Australia
Arrangements are being made to bring Southland-owned Buoyant back from Australia. Buoyant has been in Victoria for about 18 months but has not produced his best form there. His 13th placing at Caulfield in Melbourne on Saturday prompted Invercargill owner-trainer Sabin Kirkland to call time on the gelding's stay across the ditch. (READ MORE HERE).
