A quest to create more special Riverton memories
Jaimee McCabe’s quest to get a new blues and jazz festival off the ground at Riverton can been traced back to a walk two-and-a-bit years ago. It was during that stroll down the beach at Taramea Bay when the seed for an ambitious event was sown. (READ MORE HERE).
Heart of the City: Dee St site earmarked for new 'key attraction'
The Invercargill City Council has identified 66 Dee St for a possible new inner city attraction as part of a $4.9m city centre play project. The council is set to consult the public on its urban play development which would include the new “vibrant, centrally-located play site designed to be a key attraction in the city”. Two national selections, one small town school
Two Central Southland College pupils have been named in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Athletics squad for its inaugural tour to California in April. (READ MORE HERE).
Temporary closure of Splash Palace leisure pool
The leisure pool at Invercargill’s Splash Palace is set to be temporarily closed in March, as its foam tile flooring is replaced. Invercargill City Council Aquatic Services Manager Stephen Cook said the pool – known to most as the wave pool – would be closed to the public from March 3 to March 24. (READ MORE HERE).
