Museum adds $2.2m in costs to council for 2025-2026
The looming new museum will add $2.2 million in costs to the Invercargill City Council in its the 2025-2026 Annual Plan, equating to a 3.06% increase on ratepayers. (READ MORE HERE).

Over two years on, the former Farmers building on Dee St in Invercargill still sits largely empty and unused. Although The Southland Tribune understands some positive progress is being made to reactivate the building in what would be another plus for that area in inner city Invercargill. (READ MORE HERE).

Insarchatwist upstaged her younger siblings when cruising to victory in the Gore Town and Country Club Gore Summer Cup on Sunday. The eight-year-old sped through underneath her brother Hacksaw Ridge, with the pair sealing a quinella in the feature event for trainer Ricky Gutsell and his racing partners Neil and Eualie Thwaites.
