Opening up west Esk Street to two way traffic would be a travesty. Reasonable access to the new hotel can be achieved from Leven Street. Let’s retain the pedestrian emphasis and link to Esk St east and yes retain the Celtic pillars.

It seems strange to me that after the public BEGGING for a more pedestrian friendly environment in the CBD this council now wants to demolish one of the save spaces in the center and allow not just MORE cars but BUSSES. WHY WHY WHY? Isn't that money best spent elsewhere? How about doing improvements to Wachner Place instead at I'm sure HALF THE COST TO THE TAX PAYERS. Let those horrible looking tourist busses use Leven Street, much safer for everyone.

I don't agree with him. The best thing about the options is that in all cases the candlesticks are removed. They are just ugly. They may have a use for filling potholes.

We need to preserve what we already have both Wachner Place and the Celtic Columns have untapped potential.

Our “dream BIG” brand was inspired by the shape of the columns. How could we ever get rid of the real version of that logo?

The Columns are being reiterated as Our Four Pillars of Wisdom we San look forward to this becoming a destination for travelers want to become somewhat wiser. Anoth feature that started as a fictional yarn, The Blarney Stone in Ireland attracts 400,000 tourists every year!

Wachner place is the only pedestrianised street in our city. It was a gift to the city, opening it up to westerly winds and buses would destroy the tranquil ambience, no wisdom in that
