ILT teams up with food tech company First Table
First Table is a dining platform that offers an early bird discount of 50% off the food bill for two to four diners on the first table of the night.
ILT and First Table have announced a strategic partnership saying the aim is to showcase Invercargill as an unmissable dining destination for locals and tourists alike.
ILT’s portfolio includes nine dining venues from The Homestead, to The Speights Ale House and onto its Level One Restaurant Craft & Cocktail Bar.

First Table says it’s committed to partnering with venues to fill their off-peak tables that would otherwise sit empty.
Community Trust South-owned company Invest South revealed in June it had made a “significant investment” into First Table, a leading hospitality technology platform founded by Mat Weir in Queenstown in 2014.
From today [Wednesday], the exclusive First Table offer will be available at ILT’s restaurants.
ILT CEO Chris Ramsay said they were thrilled to collaborate with First Table, another Southern-based company, to expand Invercargill’s reach as a location to stay and dine.
“This partnership aims to encourage people to not only visit but also to enjoy a memorable night out in our city."
Mat Weir, Founder and CEO of First Table, was equally enthusiastic.
"Invercargill has an untapped wealth of culinary experiences that deserve to be shared far and wide. Our partnership with ILT is a game-changer, providing a unique platform to amplify the incredible dining options that Invercargill has to offer. We're ecstatic to be part of this culinary showcase."
The First Table platform is integrated with ILT’s booking system, which gives users the flexibility to make regular bookings if the First Table offer is unavailable.
Don't team up with the ILT then or any Catering skills you think you have will soon be a distant memory
Smart move by the ILT. If we can get visitors to stay one extra night in Invercargill we can almost double the tourism send in the city. I haven't seen recent stats but the average length of stay has been around 1.5 nights per person for some years. The Transport Musuem will have altered this as people can spend several hours there.
Tourism operators are up against the lack of vision from the various organisations in the south including our local councils who just can't grab the basics of slowing people down and encouraging them to stay in the city and enjoy all that is on offer.
Good to see some proactive leadership and some faith in what our city has to offer.
