“The Invercargill Mayor is literally counting down the days until his time at the Invercargill City Council comes to an end”

-So are the ratepayers

We live in the District and Mayor Clark has done more in his time in office than his counterpart Rob Scott has achieved. If only people could see past the ' old boys; brigade and yes men and acknowledge Nobbys outstanding achievements. He is no one trick show pony -he's a hard working stallion who deserves a medallion.

Being open minded, what’s one thing that he’s done for the city?

He got the Museum project off the ground for starters.

I didn’t realise knob was responsible for the new mall, well done, and quite rightly also taking credit for the as yet unfinished museum that is costing a gazillion dollars

“I don’t care what people say about the ticket. The bottom line is it was a successful way of turning the sway of the council.” “Nobby” Clarke

But awhile back you argued that it wasn’t anything about swaying in the direction you wanted? You even had a heating conversation about it in a council meeting with a concerned councillor who questioned it?

The ticket brought some very good people to the council table. The experience and calibre of those candidates was outstanding. A council needs people who have demonstrated success in life, worked hard and have life skills. People who can make the hard decisions.

Agreed a council does need that and people from all sectors of society but the ticket was about swaying the votes their way once in.

“Did not spend a lot”… Is $5.5k per-person not a lot? That’s nearly $60k that Let’s Go Invercargill spent in total, of which more than half went to online content and paid/sponsored articles.

For the advertising I seen around, that’s a lot of money for a few boards.

They were fooled by false bot numbers on social media but hey their money to waste.

I don’t think that’s unreasonable at all given the cost of advertising nowadays. It would cost similar or possibly more to run an effective election campaign in other cities.
