Joshua La Rosa makes his mark in drift series
Invercargill driver Joshua La Rosa has made a successful start to his motorsport career by winning the 2022/2023 Drift South Development Series. La Rosa was also presented with a Special Recognition Award for the achievement by the Southland Sports Car Club, of which he is a member, at their recent prizegiving. (READ MORE HERE).

The Roaring Pen podcast - where the Southland Stags are the focus - was launched by Nathan Burdon and Nick Jeffrey last year for the 2022 NPC season.
Good news Stags supporters, after some encouragement from the Stags’ No 1 fan Lindsay Beer, the podcast is back for a second season.
Hosted by Jeffrey and Burdon - with The Tribune’s Logan Savory joining in as well - the podcast will again shine a light on all things the Stags throughout the 2023 NPC season.
In podcast No 1 in season two we take a look back at 2022, look at the season ahead, and delve into the makeup of the 2023 Stags squad ahead of the competition opener in Invercargill on Sunday.

Invercargill Netball Centre club premier final - Saturday, 2pm - ILT Stadium Southland
It’s finals day at ILT Stadium Southland in Invercargill on Saturday with the headline act the premier A grade final.
The premier final will be contested between two Rata teams, Rata A and Rata Tatas.
The Tatas team includes ANZ Premiership players Aliyah Dunn and Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit.
Well worth a watch.

SBHS v King’s High School first XV rugby - 11.15am, Saturday - Les George Oval, Invercargill
It’s semifinal time in the Otago Secondary Schools first XV rugby competition which Southland Boys’ plays in.
SBHS finished top of the table and will host King’s from Dunedin at the Les George Oval at Oreti Park.
Go out and cheer on SBHS before heading home to put the feet up at watch the All Blacks-Wallabies game on TV at 2.35pm.

Next-generation leaders: Close to 14 years ago Matt Saunders, David Hall, James Wilson, and Josh Bekhuis, were part of something special. Fast forward to 2023 and that quartet of 2009 Southland rugby heroes have united in a quest to try to spark some more special rugby moments in the south. (READ MORE HERE).
