Talented 15-year-old first five-eighth lands match-winner
Fifteen-year-old first-five-eighth Mika Muliaina has landed a match-winning penalty to lift Southland Boys’ High School to an 18-17 victory over the visiting Auckland Grammar first XV. And everything’s pointing to us hearing a lot more about the impressive No 10 in the future. (READ MORE HERE).

As recently outlined, Southland Tribune’s Logan Savory has reached 20 seasons covering Southland club rugby as a reporter. What better way to mark it than to come up with a team made up of players from those 20 seasons? (READ MORE HERE).

'It’s good to dream': Olympians called in to inspire Southland swimmers
Two New Zealand swimming stars will visit In Invercargill on Saturday as the province’s head coach looks to inspire Southland’s talent. Olympians Erika Fairweather and Zac Reid have agreed to make three visits to Invercargill this year to work with Southland swimmers. (READ MORE HERE).
Duffy the destroyer does it again…
Back at the top! For the third time in his career, the pride of Southland Jacob Duffy has finished the summer as the top wicket-taker in the Plunket Shield playing for the Otago Volts. He also led the way in 2014-15 taking 45 wickets, and 2019-20 taking 22 wickets.
Leitch tackles opening round of Michelin Le Mans Cup in Spain
Invercargill driver Brendon Leitch will tackle the opening round of the 2023 Michelin Le Mans Cup which gets underway at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend. (READ MORE HERE).

The Southland Sharks have a one-win, one-loss record to start the season and all eyes will be on what they produce in Invercargill tonight in front of the Sharks faithful.
Their opponent will be a formidable Auckland Tuatara outfit. Well worth a look if you’ve got tonight free.

Let’s not sugar-coat this, 2023 has been horrible for the Southern Steel with a winless season to date.
The chances of ending that against the Tactix are slim. But if we know everything the southern netball faithfull are loyal.
