Invercargill racehorse owner rewarded for patience
It's been a long wait for Jo Gordon but her patience with racehorse Howbadcanub is paying off. Howbadcanub clearly underlined her ability with a huge finish from being last of 16 runners on the home turn to take fourth in a rating 65 1400m at Wingatui last Tuesday. (READ MORE HERE).
Bluff teen's coaching aspirations get $10k boost
A $10,000 Fellowship will help a Bluff teenager fight to achieve his dreams of supporting young Māori and Pasifika in his community. Te Rourou, One Aotearoa Foundation announced Izaya “Izzy” Simeon as the recipient for the third annual Antony Welton Fellowship. (READ MORE HERE).
Sun shines on Corpor8 Rowing Challenge…
A group of largely rowing newbies were dished up a stunning day for the Waihopai Rowing Club’s annual Corpor8 Rowing Challenge on Saturday.
The teams competed over 500m long races as what is a popular team-building event that also doubles as key fundraiser for the Waihopai Rowing Club. The use of rowers that have competed at club, senior, and premier level is prohibited.
It was the Opio Rowing Academy team that took out the A-Final honours ahead of PR Law and Oars & Saws.
Other winners were Stabicraft Sharks (B-Final), Pheonix Firebirds (C-Final), Findex (D-Final) and Property Brokers Invercargill (E-Final).
Southland’s Brendon Leitch confirmed to compete in 2023/24 Asian Le Mans Series
"I'm very happy to be announced in the team to compete in the Asian Le Mans Series. It will be great teaming up again with Gabby (Rhindone) and Marco (Mapelli)." (READ MORE HERE).
