Fire inks another chapter to building's 141-year story
A significant fire in the early hours of Wednesday morning has prompted some particular interest from historians. The affected building on the corner of Dee St and Spey St has a rich history in the makeup of Invercargill’s CBD. It dates back to 1881 when the building was designed. (READ MORE HERE).

An Invercargill City Council staffer says they are not hitting the mark in terms of keeping the city’s appearance tidy and adds it is going to be a focus. Although councillor Grant Dermody has suggested it is a responsibility the wider community needs to embrace and has suggested community “tidy-up days” as a possible option. (READ MORE HERE).
