Blair Ryall named 2023 Southland Stag of the Year
Blair Ryall has cleaned up at the 2023 Southland Stags end-of-the-season awards evening. The ever-improving loose forward was on Wednesday night named both the Southland Stags Player of the Year and the Rugby Southland Supporters Club Player of the Year. (READ MORE HERE).
Southland footballers knock over Aucklanders
The province’s leading under-16 girls players were the talk of Southland football on Wednesday. The Southland United Under-16 team claimed a South Island title in Dunedin. (READ MORE HERE).

Southland Festival of Running - Sunday, Oct 8 - Stead St Wharf start
Southland Harriers will again bring you the Southland Festival of Running on Sunday, 8 October 2023.
With the Ascot Park Hotel Southland Marathon, Shoe Clinic Invercargill 10 Mile, Southland Harriers 10km Run/Walk, and Ronald McDonald House 5km Run/Walk we have something to suit everyone in the family.
All events start and finish at the Stead St Wharf, Invercargill.

Bullying or not bullying? Outgoing Gore District Council CEO Steve Parry has suggested the bullying “card” is too often played in the workplace environment. After 22 years Parry resigned last month and will finish up this month. It followed a challenging period that included and public falling out with New Zealand’s youngest mayor Ben Bell as well as public accusations from former staff of bullying at the council.
