CEO warns council at risk over Bluff wastewater delay
Invercargill City Council’s CEO says there’s a high risk the council will have a non-conforming wastewater treatment plant at Bluff on the back of delays getting a resource consent application sorted. (READ MORE HERE).

“Oh god Mr mr is sick. I mean sick as in sick, not sick, obviously, and not like sick (but maybe?) but sick sick. I should have known because the big one had a sore throat at the weekend. I thought it was the dust at first - I dusted his room and it was a grimy grey horror show and both children made a grand show of coughing and spluttering”. (READ MORE HERE).

The 104-tonne journey across Lake Manapouri
After arriving in Bluff from Australia, the 135 MVA transformer was unloaded onto a trailer for the 170 km journey by road to Supply Bay, before spectacularly making its way by barge across Lake Manapōuri. It was the first time a piece of generation equipment this size has travelled by barge across Lake Manapōuri. (READ MORE HERE).

Former SIT deputy CEO appointed to education commission
Key ILT executive and former Southern Institute of Technology deputy chief executive, Bharat Guha, has been appointed to the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) board. Tertiary Education and Skills Minister and Invercargill MP Penny Simmonds - who was a long-time SIT CEO - worked with Guha at the SIT. (READ MORE HERE).
Barclay, Barron look to keep winning form going
After starring on the big stage, Brent Barclay and Clark Barron will try to keep their winning form going at Winton today [Thursday]. The training and driving combination produced one of the most impressive victories on Labour Day at Ashburton when Bring On The Muscle powered home from off the speed to win the Group Three Hambletonian Classic.
