Why Southland is a gem…. Reason #41
(We think it’s worth reminding ourselves why Southland is such a special place, so that’s what we’ll do regularly)
Invercargill Estuary Walkway. Take a stroll around Invercargill’s Pleasure Bay lagoon and discover an area rich in ecology and history. Adjoining the Waihopai River walkway/cycleway, riders can also enjoy the 4.7km Pleasure Bay lagoon loop track. A shorter walk to an elevated viewpoint will provide views over the estuary and lagoon. Access and car parking is off Stead Street Wharf and Bond Street.
It’s a very peaceful stroll just minutes from Invercargill’s CBD. There are few other places you can do that.
