“We wanted the gala opening of the festival to be a little bit glamorous, and it was fantastic to see so many people really get into the spirit of things. Everybody looked a little bit glitzy, people were enjoying the bubbles, and our performers were just top notch. ILT commit further $500k to museum rebuild
Invercargill’s new museum has been given another funding boost of $500,000 from ILT, bringing the organisation’s total funding commitment to $1 million. (READ MORE HERE).
Sports Car Club to mark 75 years of Southland motorsport
The Southland Sports Car will mark a major milestone in October when the club celebrates 75 years of motorsport in Southland. All past and present members, volunteers and supporters are invited to join the club in their celebrations which will be held in Invercargill on Friday 27 October and Saturday 28 October. World Cup final on the big screen outdoors - Sunday - Don St, Invercargill
Great South and the Invercargill City Council have partnered with ILT to bring you the FIFA Women's World Cup Final live on the big screen in the Invercargill CBD on Sunday.
Head to town early and order a bite to eat or grab a drink in the city centre.
Schedule
• 9.00pm: Music by Nightlife DJs, 360 pop-up bar and Brewed Café open
• 9.30pm: Pre-match hype on the big screen
• 10.00pm: Kick off! Food and drink offerings available during the match
• 12.30am: Expected match finish
Wrap up warm and attend this free event in the City Centre welcoming everyone to join in the celebrations.

Black Caps call-up: Jacob Duffy has been called into the Black Caps T20 squad which will take on United Arab Emirates this week. Duffy, who started his cricketing journey in Southland, replaces Blair Tickner who has been withdrawn to allow him to be at home with his wife and newborn daughter. (READ MORE HERE).
