At 6pm the chair of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Group, Neville Cook, signed a regionwide state of emergency declaration. The declaration was made in order to ensure Emergency Management Southland was able to quickly respond to areas of concern. (READ MORE HERE).

An Invercargill champion boxer is fighting the biggest bout of her career as she battles the disadvantage faced by young people in her community. Boxer-turned-trainer Faliu Mauu has been shaping the lives of rangatahi in Invercargill for the past 7 years, training them from whatever space was available, and footing the cost from her own back pocket. Popular portable pump track moves to Nightcaps
Tunatuna the Murihiku portable pump track was launched in July to offer an alternative way of play and recreation for all ages. It’s made a big statement at its first home in Bluff, with local tamariki and rangitahi clocking up 25,000 laps of the 57m track on their bikes, scooters and skateboards. (READ MORE HERE).
