Cycling Southland GM resignation…
Tony Hammington has resigned as Cycling Southland’s general manager. Hammington has been involved with cycling in the south for a number of years and has held the GM position since March 2022.
During his tenure, he has been instrumental in reviving the Bike Ready project after COVID disruptions and has played a role in procuring the portable pump track that will be up and running in the coming months.
In a Cycling Southland statement, it said Hammington has resigned from the role to pursue opportunities closer to home where he is based in Central Otago.
“Like other areas of the community, the Cycling Southland team has worked hard after COVID lockdowns to maintain its activities with some great successes and Tony looks forward to seeing someone new lead the organisation with energy and enthusiasm.”
Hammington’s last day with Cycling Southland will be June 30.
