NZ Music Month…. A Southlander’s song choice
It is New Zealand Music Month and we at The Southland Tribune are celebrating it. We’ve teamed with the crew at MASSAV Productions and throughout the month are asking various Southlanders to provide their favourite New Zealand song choice.
Today’s song selector: NICK GORMACK. Operations Planner - Diaken
Artist: Push Push. Push Push is a rock band from Auckland formed in the 1990s.
Nick’s song choice: Trippin
Why? This song came out not long after I was starting to get into music, with bands like Motley Crue, Poison and Skidrow. I was unaware at the time that Push Push were from little old NZ, and it was a hell of a catchy tune. When I found out Push Push were Kiwis, I was gobsmacked and very proud. Even though it was really their only song to make any impact, it always made me smile to think someone from NZ was giving these big U.S hair bands a run for their money. What a Trip!!
