Harassment allegation, lump sum payment, and the resignation
Nigel Skelt was the subject of a sexual harassment complaint prior to his sudden departure as ILT Stadium Southland’s general manager last month. Correspondence released to The Tribune by the Invercargill City Council on Monday, showed Invercargill Mayor Nobby Clark had been working with a third party in regard to the complaint involving Skelt. Burdon: Why Academy Southland is more than sport
Sporting success is really only half the story when it comes to SBS Bank Academy Southland. Since 2004 the two-year programme has been supporting many of the province’s best young athletes to be the best they can be, playing an integral role alongside their parents and wider families, schools, coaches, regional and national sporting bodies, sponsors and community funders. NZ Music Month…. A Southlander’s song choice
This month is New Zealand Music Month and we at The Southland Tribune are keen to celebrate it. We’ve teamed with the crew at MASSAV Productions and throughout the month we will ask various Southlanders to provide a New Zealand song choice and ask them why they opted for it.
Today’s song selector: SHANE EVANS. Shane is the Chief Transformation Officer at SBS Bank and leading the charge to digitise the bank.
Artist: Head Like A Hole – formed in Wellington in 1990. Gained a cult following on the uni circuit with outrageous gigs, often performing caked in mud, or with complete face and body paint.
Why? I was fortunate to see HLAH quite a few times as a young scarfie in Dunedin and were one of the many formative experiences that ignited my passion for live music. Loud, intense and unpredictable – you always knew you were in for bit of a ride.
‘Glory Glory’ was released in 2011 and presented a return to form for the group with loads of talent and song writing ability. A cracking tune with big stadium anthem vibes. Their cover of the Boss’s I’m on fire is worth a shout out too. Great Kiwi rock band.
