Australia’s iconic Draculas show opens in Invercargill
Australia’s iconic vaudevillian variety show Draculas has opened in Invercargill with the first of four shows at the Civic Theatre preformed on Thursday night. Following Australia Dracula’s: The Resurrection Tour is visiting Auckland, Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington. (READ MORE HERE).
Extraordinary community volunteer honoured with award
Raewyn Black’s extraordinary contribution to her community has been recognised with a Community Service Award. The Gropers Bush volunteer has been deeply involved in a long list of organisations and activities in Western Southland for more than 40 years. (READ MORE HERE).
Invercargill's important CCTV installation delayed
“While we originally hoped to have stage one of the CCTV installation underway in December, we are now committed to commencing work in April 2024 with a go-live date of June 2024.” (READ MORE HERE).

ILT Rugby Fan Zone - Invercargill Central - Oct 14 to Oct 29
Immerse yourself in the world of rugby at the ILT Rugby Fan Zone, a collaboration between Great South, Invercargill City Council, ILT, Invercargill Central, and Rugby Southland.
This activation will be located on the ground floor of Invercargill Central, between Majestic and Bánh Mì, from the 14th to the 29th of October. This coincides with the quarterfinals to finals period of the Rugby World Cup. The Fan Zone will be open throughout this period for the same hours as Invercargill Central mall (Monday - Saturday 9.00am to 6.00pm, Sunday 10.00am to 5.00pm) and filled with a bunch of fun, family-friendly activities such as colouring in walls, puzzles, memory games, photo boards, and more.
Great South and Rugby Southland are also running a series of interactive rugby-themed activations on weekends to keep the kids entertained.
The first is a Rugby Ball Biscuit Icing on Saturday, 14 October. Freshly made, delicious rugby ball-shaped biscuits will be provided for participants to ice in their own creative style with handy icing pens.
