Mayor Nobby Clark plans to consult Iwi this week, and then other organisations, on the proposed Sir Tim Shadbolt Airport naming. Although ultimately it will be a decision for the Invercargill City Council to make. (READ MORE HERE).
Crunch day, future of Wachner Place to be decided
The Invercargill City Council may look at a way to appease “both parties” with crunch day arriving for a decision about the future of Wachner Place. The council will meet today [Tuesday] when a decision is expected to be made about what to do with Wachner Place and Esk St West. (READ MORE HERE).
Remembering Rex Cochrane, a gentleman and astute trainer
Former top jockey Jim Collett says the opportunities he gained from Rex Cochrane were a huge help to his riding career. Collett is among many in the New Zealand racing industry to pay tribute to Cochrane who died on Saturday. Cochrane was a Gore trainer from the 1955-56 season to when he retired in 1994.
