Zonta says NO to violence against women
The Zonta Club of Invercargill is proud to embark on 16 Days of Activism from November 25 to December 10, alongside Zonta clubs worldwide. The campaign aims to raise awareness and advocate for change to gender-based attitudes and behaviours in order to end violence against women and girls. (READ MORE HERE).

HOIHOI at the Southland Musicians Club - Saturday, November 25
HOIHOI, a Ōtautahi post-punk band who have been making noise together since 2020, is coming to Invercargill.
Its name means be noisy! (and be quiet!) and says its influences are the likes of Aotearoa legends Die!Die!Die! and faraway legends like Fugazi and Pixies.
Over the last few years, they have played alongside so many wonderful bands from across the country. All the while dreaming of the day it’s their turn to venture out of our Ōtautahi music scene nest.
The time has arrived.
They will be joined by Estrogen (Queenstown) and NOISE (Invercargill) at the Southland Musicians Club on Saturday night. Doors 7.30pm.

Stadium finances: A Southland Indoor Leisure Centre Charitable Trust board member says the stadium probably needed another $100k to $150k annually and there is a three-year window to get to that point. (READ MORE HERE).
‘Extreme hardship’: Stewart Islanders are in a state of limbo as they await the formation of a new Government to help address the “urgent” electricity situation. Electricity on Stewart Island is three times higher than Invercargill, and with diesel to increase in December, it’s expected it will become even tougher for many to call Stewart Island home. Big week: It’s been a stellar week for Southland’s Brendon Leitch competing in Lamborghini Super Trofeo competitions in Italy. First, Letich won the Super Trofeo Europe series Pro title then went on to finish third in the 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals, a coming together of all three global Super Trofeo series including North America and Asia.
